Acne
Acne occurs when the pores in your skin are blocked with oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells that clog your pores. These skin cells, sebum (oily, waxy matter secreted from your glands), dead skin, and hair clump together to plug pores, causing an infection and resulting in inflammation, or a pimple. Acne is not discriminatory, and for most people, pimples and acne start to appear during puberty and last into the early 20s, and in more severe cases, even well into adulthood.

Lasers deliver powerful light beams deep into the skin’s pigment, which breaks up any discoloration that is, in turn, absorbed back into the body within a few days. The heat from the laser also generates your body’s natural healing mechanisms, giving your skin refreshed and youthful look. Depending on the case, most patients see satisfying improvement in four to six monthly treatments.

Mole removals are common procedures and can be done to remove an unwanted mole for cosmetic reasons or to prevent a mole from developing into a more severe skin disease such as cancer.
Whether your reason for coming in for a consultation is for cosmetic or preventative purposes, we recommend first biopsying the mole to ensure the mole has not developed into a melanoma. Biopsies are performed in our office and then sent to a specialist or lab for testing. Sometimes, biopsies can result in the entire mole being removed.

Chemical peels can be used to treat acne scars, uneven pigmentation, rough skin, wrinkles, fine lines, and sun spots/damage.
Laser Hair Removal
Unwanted or excessive hair growth can leave you feeling down and less-confident about your appearance, while ingrown hairs can cause a lot of pain and unsightly bumps. In the past, treatment for these issues was only effective for lighter skinned individuals with dark hair, but fortunately laser hair removal has become more accessible and advanced in recent years. At our practice, we are able to safely treat people with virtually all skin types and hair colors.
request an appointmentSkin Cancer
There are three major types of skin cancer: basal cell cancer, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Each of these skin cancers is primarily caused by too much exposure to the sun, but genetics may also play a role in increasing your risk for skin cancer.
Skin diseases and cancers are most effectively diagnosed through a biopsy that can be performed in our office and sent to a specialist or lab. For early-stage skin cancers, a biopsy or the surgical removal of the affected area can stop cancer from spreading.
